22. China/Hunan: Zhangjiajie City
After the walks on top of Tianmen Mountain, The Wandelgek returned to his hotel where he had only briefly visited his room that afternoon…
The Wandelgek was already checked in, so after entering The Wandelgek immediately went up to his:
Hotelroom
The room was fine but not as great as the room in Wulingyuan Village had been …
Bathroom
This was mainly caused by the fine but separated bathroom, without the glass wall and a shower, but not a bath. There was however a technical feature in this room which I really loved, but scared the shit (pun intended 😂) out of me, when I first entered that bathroom.
Bedroom
The bedroom was spacy and comfortable. Enough cupboard space and a large television on the wall …
The room was equiped with all sorts of comfort bonusses. From the bed you could open and close the vitrage as well as the curtains …
Large bed and a small seat …
The lighting of television area was superb …
A desk and a mirror…
Before starting the evening program, The Wandelgek left the hotel to visit one of the restaurants next to the hotel, which had been adviced to him by Gaby …
Tea is always 1st 😀 …
A bowl of rice and a beer next … 😉
The Wandelgek ordered a bowl of meat, bamboo and garlic …
He already was familiar with Tsingtao Beer from previous visits, which is a large beer label in China …
It was a bit empty in the restaurant. The food was very good, so either the hour was too late or too early or there were not that many tourists yet in China. I did hear the stories about waning tourism after the Corona crisis. Hopefully this will slowly get better again. The visa free access should also help with that. While I’m writing this, I know about Dutch travellers in 2025 who are allowed to go visa free into China for 30 days.
Gaby entered the restaurant and I finished my dinner so we could leave toward Tianmen Mountain again …
