The map beneath shows South America where I travelled in 2023, mainly through Argentinian Patagonia, but with some detours into Uruguay, Chile and Brasil. I flew from Amsterdam in via Madrid to Buenos Aires, then went took a flight to Trelew, to visit the east coast at the Valdes Peninsula. Next by bus through the Patagonian desert to Esquel and on through the Los Alerces National Park and the Cholila Valley to El Bolson. Further north to the Nahuel Huapi National Park where I stayed in San Carlos de Bariloche. A flight via Buenos Aires to El Calafate was next and from there I travelled north by bus to El Chalten and the Los Glaciares NP and the Lago del Desierto Provincial Park. Next back to El Calafate and visiting the Los Glaciares NP at the Perito Moreno Glacier. Then through the Patagonian desert to Chile and the Torres del Paine NP. Back to El Calafate and then a flight to Ushuaia. Next leaving Patagonia by flight to Buenos Aires. By boat a visit to Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay and returning to Buenos Ares. Then by flight to Puerto Iguazu and visiting the Iguazu NP’s in Brasil and Argentina, before returning to Buenos Aires. Finally the flight home via Madrid.
